Today was Luke's first roller coaster experience. Luke and I went to Magic Mtn today. The weather was perfect and there wasn't anyone there practically. The roller coaster was for kids but it was a bit "advanced" to be in the kids section I thought. Luke's eyes were as wide as saucers by the end of the 30 second ride. He "did NOT" like it and since I'm such a dork unfortunately I couldn't stop laughing. I was laughing hysterically by myself. He was just so cute and I felt bad that I didn't assess the ride a bit more before we went on. No harm done AND believe it or not he even went on it once more later in the afternoon with me. What a trooper! We sampled almost every kind of junk food available...cotton candy, ice cream, french fries, lollipops, caramel apple, hamburgers...I think that was IT. All day long we had seen people with these Superman and Batman capes on. Luke never mentioned them to me once but then as we were on our way out he said in the sweetest voice, "Could I get a Batman cape? I'd like one." Oh, my heart jumped a beat and I would've paid $50 (well, let's not get irrational over this little sentimental moment, right?!) for it at that point instead of the bargain price of $5 that I did spend. Luke walked the entire day, never complained and was such a joy!! I had an absolutely perfect day with him. He was so tired he was asleep less than 5 minutes in the car...with his cape on.
